Use this “25 Days of Christ” family Bible study activity to celebrate the gift of Jesus this Christmas season.

For each day, the calendar lists (a) one name for Jesus, (b) a corresponding Bible verse, and (c) for younger children, a corresponding motion activity. Families with kids of all ages can use this tool to reflect on 25 different names of Jesus in God’s Word leading up to Christmas Day. Below are four ways to use this Bible study calendar:

  1. Starting December 1, each day share one name of Jesus and read the verse as a family. As a way to get your kids invested, allow them to pick the square for the day and mark each square off as you go to make sure you cover all 25 names by Christmas Day!
  2. For families with younger children, each day share one name of Jesus, read the verse, and do the simple corresponding motion activity. To help your children remember Jesus’ many names, build on each day by repeating the names and corresponding motions from previous days. If your children are toddlers, consider sharing the name and jumping straight to the motion activity. Keep it simple!
  3. For families with older children, print out the calendar and allow everyone in your family to pick one verse to memorize. Give everyone the opportunity to perform their chosen verse on Christmas Eve!
  4. Host a family game night! Review all the names of Jesus and corresponding hand motions together at once. Then, take turns acting out one of the motions, and give your family the chance to guess the corresponding name of Jesus. To help, you can provide the names-only version of the calendar below as a visual of the name options. As an alternative, take turns reading one verse out loud, and see if your family can listen for the name of Jesus given in the verse.
