God’s Wondrous Work

Opening Prayer

Be still, and know that I am God.  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!   (Psalm 46:10)

Let’s begin ABIDE by taking a moment to quiet our hearts and minds – to be still before God.

You may want to pray a “breath prayer” as you inhale and exhale, such as, “God, I exalt you.”

Prayer:  Father, we love you and we need you.  Holy Spirit, fill us and lead us as we gather to pray and study Scripture.  We dedicate this time to you and what you have for us to receive from you as your sons and daughters. Remove any distractions and help us to focus our hearts on you.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Praise

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

How is God showing you His faithful love in your life and family?  Let’s thank God and praise Him for how He is revealing His goodness and faithful love to us.

Prayer:  God, we thank you and praise you for________________________________________.

Prayer for My Heart

Let them give thanks for his wondrous works for all humanity.   (Psalm 107:8)

Our Father desires to do a wondrous work in our hearts and through our lives.

What wondrous work do you need God to do in your heart today? Do you need peace, hope, joy?  Perhaps you need direction or wisdom? Or perhaps you need healing, freedom or some other need in your family. Whatever the Spirit brings to mind, let’s bring our needs to our Father in prayer.

Prayer:  Father, I bring my heart and life to you today and ask that you do a wondrous work in______________________________(fill in the blank with whatever the Spirit has brought to mind).   In Jesus Name.

Prayer for Others Hearts

For he has satisfied the thirsty and filled the hungry with good things. (Psalm 107:9)

As God’s sons and daughters, we have the honor of praying for others who are spiritually thirsty and hungry because they have not received Jesus Christ – the living water and the bread of life.

Let’s ask our Father to do a wondrous work in people’s lives who have not received Jesus.

Prayer:  Father, would you do a wondrous work in___________________heart and rescue him/her from darkness and bring her into your Kingdom.  In Jesus Name.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank you for the wondrous work of salvation, healing and freedom that you gave us through your Son, Jesus Christ.  Thank you for being all-powerful and reigning over all things. Thank you for your goodness and faithfulness to do a wondrous work in our lives, our families and in the lives of people all around the world.  You are our hope, our peace, our strength and our salvation. Thank you for being more than enough for us and for all who open their hearts to you.  We love you.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
