ABIDE Prayer: Revival
The purpose of ABIDE is to seek God through prayer, rely on the Spirit as we gather together, and pray with unity and purpose. ABIDE prayers are Scripture-led and Spirit-focused prayers.
We need God. We desperately need God. During times of spiritual warfare, suffering, grief and fear, we are more aware of our desperate need for God. As a nation, our need for God is evident, but it begins in us. We need to acknowledge our desperate need for God and turn away from anything that we are putting our trust in apart from God.
Prayers of Honor
“This is what the LORD, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, the LORD of armies, says: I am the first and I am the last. There is no God but me.” (Isaiah 44:6)
Prayer: Take a moment and praise God for who He is and acknowledge that He alone is God. There is no other God beside Him and He alone is worthy of all praise, glory and honor. Tell God that you honor Him as your King.
Prayers of Repentance
“And if my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. My eyes will now be open and my ears attentive to prayer from this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:14-15)
Let’s humble ourselves before God by telling God that 1) we need Him, 2) we need His forgiveness, and 3) we need Him to heal us.
Prayer for our Hearts: Take a moment and tell God that you need Him. Seek His forgiveness for putting your trust in anything other than Him and ask God to heal you.
Prayer for our Nation: Take a moment and pray for our nation. Pray for God to forgive our nation for turning away from God and worshiping the false gods of this world. Ask God to help us turn to Him. Ask God to heal our nation.
Prayers for Revival
“Remember these things, Jacob, and Israel, for you are my servant; I formed you, you are my servant; Israel, you will never be forgotten by me. I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” (Isaiah 44:21-22)
Prayer for our Hearts: Take a moment and pray for Spiritual Revival in your heart by confessing your desperate need for Him. Ask God to help you recall all He has done for you through the Gospel, and give your heart and life fully to Him. Ask God to awaken your heart to Him and to the call to pray!
Prayer for our Nation: Take a moment and pray for our nation. Tell God that we need Him, we need His forgiveness and we need Him to heal our nation. Ask God to help our nation recognize our desperate need for Him. Ask for the Spirit to be poured out in our nation and for Spiritual Revival in our nation.
Closing Prayer: God, we need you. We are in desperate need of you. God, only you can save us, heal us, change us and deliver us from evil. Awaken our hearts to our desperate need for you and our need for Spiritual Revival. Holy Spirit, awaken us to your presence within us. Awaken our hearts to pray. Set us free from pride, division, hatred and release humility, unity and love within our hearts, our homes and our nation. You alone are God and we put our trust in you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
